Update from Queensland University of Technology

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Public Sector Management Program's face to face workshops will continue online instead. The learning designers, together with the facilitators, are applying their collective innovative and creative skills to make these workshops an impactful and rich learning experience.

The Public Sector Management (PSM) Program is a post-graduate study course managed and delivered by the Queensland University of Technology. The Program is a flexible and dynamic study option catering specifically for mid-level managers in the modern Australian public service. Offered to both public sector and non-government organisation (NGO) staff, the program is specifically designed to develop management skills in the business of government and has evolved to meet the changing needs of the public sector and NGOs. It provides an engaging and relevant curriculum, delivered through a unique blend of work-based learning, workshops and a virtual learning environment. The program award is a Graduate Certificate in Business (Public Sector Management).

The program develops participants’ understanding of the role of the business of government and develops their management capacity to:

  • think systemically in an ambiguous and contestable world
  • be accountable and be held to account
  • become reflective practitioners
